Flare Stud is a small, independently owned, first-generation equine and feline stud located in Central NSW. The stud was established in 2018 with the intention of breeding Welshian horses, and has since evolved to focus on Welshian ponies and include pedigree Ragdoll cats as part of a broader, purpose-driven breeding program.

The stud has experienced periods of significant change, including a reduction in stock and the sale of its property in 2024. Since then, Flare Stud has continued with renewed commitment, developing a distinctive Welshian line that is intentionally curated and purposeful. Flare Stud does not intend to become a large-scale or full-time breeder; instead, its focus is on integrity, ethics, and purposeful breeding.

All animals at Flare Stud are registered, with every breeding generation being colour tested, and genetically tested with the appropriate societies and labs. All animals are also kept up to date with all maintenance requirements and are mentally and physically assessed, either by the stud owner or by a registered veterinarian. Flare Stud breeds for a purpose and respects others who do the same. The stud aims to produce well-grown, correct, sensible, and versatile animals with the character and presence suitable for both the show ring and a variety of homes, while keeping welfare, selective breeding, and long-term soundness at the centre of its decisions.

Flare Stud values thoughtful breeding, genuine care, and the unique bond animals can bring to a home.
